Here are some details on my latest collaboration with the V8 Supercars Fan Group:
The logo went through many concepts. From concept to completion it took approximately two to three months and was completed on 19-11-2009. In the end I decided to make the logo much more neater and also give it an 'edgy' look. However, I didn't want to stray too much from the previous logo. By keeping most of the elements that make up the previous logo, visitors should find it easier to warm up to. I believe I have been quite successful with the new branding.
The font used is a modified version of 'Elevation' by Graffiz. It is a very nice font that looks modern but doesn't go 'over the top'.

The website features three themes for the visitors: Default, Ford and Holden. The backgrounds are all the same (except for colour) however the footer graphics vary a little. My part in the redevelopment of the website took roughly six weeks to complete with the occasional bugfix here and there. Effort was made, with the help of Justin, to allow IE6 visitors to get the same experience as the other more reliable browsers. The template that Justin had decided to use is called 'Infuse' by RocketTheme.

The final part of the redevelopment of the V8SFG website is the Sim Racing liveries. As a way for Justin to market his website to a specific audience, he requests new Sim liveries every season. For the past year he has hired me to skin his car while he races for the top of the leaderboards. This season, with the release of the new logo, I have created a livery that is rich with colour. Although it looks basic, I have tried to follow the contours of the virtual Commodore. In some way, it resemble the FTR Falcons of the late-90's and early-00's. The new livery has even been described by some as the best V8SFG livery ever. The render above is provided by MaikuL.
